The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey

After the 1st wave, only darkness remains. After the 2nd, only the lucky escape. And after the 3rd, only the unlucky survive. After the 4th wave, only one rule applies: trust no one.

Now, it's the dawn of the 5th wave, and on a lonely stretch of highway, Cassie runs from Them. The beings who only look human, who roam the countryside killing anyone they see. Who have scattered Earth's last survivors. To stay alone is to stay alive, Cassie believes, until she meets Evan Walker. Beguiling and mysterious, Evan Walker may be Cassie's only hope for rescuing her brother--or even saving herself. But Cassie must choose: between trust and despair, between defiance and surrender, between life and death. To give up or to get up.

Forgiveness. Entry Four

This entry covers pages 154-194

In this small section I've just read I can say that the only thing that R is missing is to forgive him self. He has now "overcome" the zombie state, he is more aware of what he does, says and how he reacts to certain situations and in light of that, he is now able to feel guilt and that's what it's consuming him inside-out. "No sleep for the innocent. Not for you. Did you forget? You have blood on your hands. On your lips. On your teeth. Smile for the cameras"
He feels guilty for killing/eating Perry and all of the others, for being one small pice of the giagant monster that have cause Julie so much pain, for being what he is. It's time to let go of all of that, everyone has forgive him already. Can he do it also?
"Is it too late for me? Can I somehow snatch another chance from the skymouth's grinding teeth? I want a new past, new memories, a new first handshake with love. I want to start over, in every possible way"
Since R ate Perry's brain, he had had this kind of dreams or visions about Perry's life memories, but they are not just memories. Perry's soul is also there, what's left of his essence is now mixing and filling the blank spaces of R's existence, talking to him, showing him what he need to see to take the next step and don't make the same mistakes Perry once did.
"-What am I missing- I ask
    - How about a strategy? We're wandering around this city like a kitten an a dog kennel. you keep talking about changing the world, but you're sitting here licking your paws while all the pit bulls circle in on us. What's the plan, pussycat?"
This is not what you might say a big entry, but there's basically no movement in this pages. It's the calm before the storm. The moment when our heroes question them selves and if it's worth it, if they are worth it. We might never see whats going on inside Julie's or M's head, but sure is not much different from what R is struggling with. Sure, they are grieving different people, their memories or (in the zombie case), the lack of them. Everyone is having a inner fight while the pieces are placed and the match beggins. Any way, as static or boring as this section may sound is the most difficult one. This is the moment when they give the next step into an uncertain future, or they give up: just as Perry did. It's the moment when they have to forgive and forget. To live behind them what's drawing them back.
"My hands hang limb at my sides - I'm sorry- I say.

"Help...exhume?". Entry Three

This entry covers pages 102-154

Step two. Taking.

We have all heard the expression "if you want it, you can have it", but that's not true. Of course we might want or wish from all heart to enter Harvard, to fall in love, to become millionaire but if we don't do anything to achieve this dream, we will not come not even near to it. We have to take it.
For a short moment in the book, Julie lives R behind. She is going home; never the less R is not ready to say good bye. I think that for R, living Julie behind means also to leave his opportunity to re-emerge from the death behind, and now that things are changing not only for him but for "M" also  (his best friend) and even more zombies, that's not a choice. He is going after her, and everything that she means.

Warm Bodies. Entry Two

This entry covers pages 52 -102.

This second part of the book has now left the introductory part behind and now the true story (or the adventure) its begging to start.
Basically whats going on is that R its begging to change, little by little but we can notice that his thoughts and ability to speak  are changing, improving. He has realized that there's still hope for him. Hope for everyone.
What I have noticed is the main subject of this section is hope. The constant felling that things may change. R is the actual prove that the situation its not all black and white now. He has also realized that, since the first pages we can notice that he is different and we know that he knows he is different, but it hasn't been until now that he has actually said it out loud. Julie has been a huge factor in all this. Since R rescued her for being de-brained his "metamorphosis" started to speed up. Right now its clear that he is in love with her and that she has realized that R is more alive than dead. They both know that, and now with that fact laying on the surface it has also became clear that R wants to live, he wants to fight.
"-No- I say to the ceiling. -I don't want to die.-
As I say it, I realize I've just broken my syllable record."

Warm Bodies. Entry One

This entry covers pages 3 -52.

So far what I really love about this book is that is narrated by a zombie, I think that for the writer was a difficult but also a great experience; to give a voice to something (or someone) that we have always thought was empty.
This book gives us an interesting and a very entertaining reading which I am enjoying a lot. The thing that I love the most is what "R", the principal character, narrates what he thinks of being Death, how we wishes to feel something, to even be able to produce a smile and what he thinks of his "zombie society". He constantly remember's himself all the things they do to feel something similar to be alive, to feel something else that eager. He gives a whole new perspective to the zombie idea we had, and I just love that, he gives us explanations for the zombie cliches such as their need for brains, which is explained at the book with their need to feel alive again because by eating the brain they can "live" and stole that person's memories and experiences.
All that he says in the book makes you realize how sad he is, how empty he feels, but he never uses this kind of words to describe himself for the same reason that he doesn't know what they used to mean or feel.

Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion

R is having a no-life crisis—he is a zombie. He has no memories, no identity, and no pulse, but he is a little different from his fellow Dead. He may occasionally eat people, but he’d rather be riding abandoned airport escalators, listening to Sinatra in the cozy 747 he calls home, or collecting souvenirs from the ruins of civilization.
And then he meets a girl.
First as his captive, then his reluctant house guest, Julie is a blast of living color in R’s gray landscape, and something inside him begins to bloom. He doesn’t want to eat this girl—although she looks delicious—he wants to protect her. But their unlikely bond will cause ripples they can’t imagine, and their hopeless world won’t change without a fight.
